Requirements for transmission shaft design

The transmission shaft is a very important transmission machinery in both tractors and automobiles. It is a rotating body that can control the speed. It is composed of three parts: shaft tube, telescopic sleeve and universal joint. The transmission shaft itself pays great attention to dynamic balance in design. Therefore, before any product leaves the factory, it will be tested for dynamic balance, In product design, we usually put forward some requirements for it.
1. Strength
The structure of the transmission shaft assembly is complex, composed of large and small parts, and the actual processing is convenient and more cumbersome. It should not only bear the random alternating load, but also bear the starting, braking and impact load caused by road conditions. Therefore, the steel pipe used for production must have good strength and plasticity.
2. Precision
The propeller shaft assembly is a moving part that transmits torque. The geometric dimension of the steel pipe shall be similar to the shape, and a certain accuracy shall be achieved. At this time, the center of mass of the transmission shaft assembly can approach the rotation center. The mass distribution of shaft and pipe shall be uniform to reduce the system vibration caused by centrifugal force and ensure the stability of vehicle during driving.
3. Craft
In order to ensure the quality of the transmission shaft assembly, the steel pipe must pass the process performance tests such as flaring, flattening and static torsion.
